2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited
Written by Marco Carvajal
I am test-driving the new Hyundai Sonata, a renewed midsize sedan with a trendy and sporty design. As you enter the modern cabin, you can note the state-of-the-art technology with a beautiful, sleek design. Driving the Sonata, you feel safe and in total control of the vehicle with several excellent safety features. But that is not all, as the Sonata becomes hybrid, with the new Limited and SEL hybrid trims, it becomes smarter, more efficient, and even more modern.
The new modern design of the Hybrid Sonata is very attractive, and drivers love the savings with such a good hybrid fuel economy of up to 51 miles per gallon. Having the ability to drive so many miles with just one gallon of gas makes you question if is necessary to switch to an electric car. Having a hybrid you get the best of both worlds electric-motor technology and gas-engine technology.
New Upgraded Design
I like the new aggressive design with a long hood and wide front-end layout enhanced by Horizon Lamps. The new rear H-lights accentuate the new Sonata’s wide stance and high-tech personality.
The black spoiler-shaped trunk lid and exhaust-shaped rear-end treatment make it look like a luxury racing car.
Hyundai has rolled out major updates to the new Sonata with changes that go far beyond the tweaks manufacturers typically make mid-cycle. There are notable revisions to the exterior that make it look like a new-generation Sonata.
The new interior minimalist design with better space distribution allows you to stretch your legs inside the spacious Sonata sedan. I enjoy refined details and thoughtful tech that cater to our modern lifestyle. To complete the impressive interior, there are high-end details and available optional Bose Premium Audio system with excellent audio fidelity.
Over the past Sonata generations, Hyundai has positioned this sedan as a trendsetter, improving performance and style often. Hyundai created quite a stir when the last version came out two years ago. The updated exterior improves the sedan’s coupe-like profile while making it the most aerodynamic and luxury Sonata.
Hyundai Committed to Produce Sedans
Several manufacturers, including Ford, have abandoned sedans altogether, while other automakers have drastically cut back production. But not Hyundai, as it remains committed to manufacturing sedans for those who prefer a Sedan versus an SUV or Truck.
“With a total of nearly three million sedans sold in the U.S. in the past twelve months, those new buyers and owners seeking to stay in the sedan segment will find that Hyundai is there with beautifully updated Sonata models,” said Jose Muñoz. “ Sonata will now be available in All-Wheel-Drive, attracting even more sedan buyers to Sonata.”
More Powertrains Available
The new 2024 lineup includes a gasoline-powered 2.5L engine, 2.5L turbo engine, and 2.0L hybrid electric (HEV). The 2.5L turbo was developed especially for the N Line.
The advanced e-Dynamic Drive system keeps the driver connected to the road for a very efficient and precise driving experience, while hi-tech innovations keep drivers and passengers connected to your world online.
Sonata Pricing
Pricing for the 2024 Sonata ranges from $27,500 for the base SEL model, going up to $37,200 for the top-of-the-line Sonata Hybrid Limited that I am driving.
The new 2024 Hyundai Sonata is available in four trims, SEL, N Line, SEL Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid.
Sonata Hybrid
I am driving the trim model Hybrid Limited with pricing starting around $37K. The Sonata Hybrid sedan is available only in two trims, the SEL Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid, both are luxury sedan models that anyone can enjoy driving.
The hybrid HEV model is equipped with e-Motion Drive, which enables a smooth and comfortable driving experience in various driving conditions, and for the first time, it has paddle shifters and a regenerative braking mode to further increase fuel efficiency.
A strong 192 Horsepower combining its electric motor and gasoline engine gives you fast acceleration and easy maneuvering onboard the Sonata sedan. I enjoy driving on the highway, in large cities, or in small towns with this midsize sedan that fits everywhere.

Sonta Luxury Style and Fun Dynamic Driving
e-Dynamic Drive is an advanced system included in the new Sonata. Driving the Sonata Hybrid you get the most fun out of your drive with precise cornering and handling thanks to its advanced hybrid performance technology.
The Sonata Limited Hybrid elevates your drive with an upscale offering of technology, safety features, and comfort features that you would usually get in more expensive European sedans, but for a lower price of less than $40K.
The panoramic curved display is a perfect union of the 12.3-inch touchscreen and the available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Elegantly spanning the dash, it’s a broad way to view and access both driving info and infotainment.
Competitor Sedans of the New Sonata
The new Hyundai Sonata hybrid sedan competes with the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid. The Sonata wins on optional features like the Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch, which is not available on the Accord, or the Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) features that are not available on the Camry.
