2021 Dodge Durango SRT HellCat AWD
I am test driving the new SUV model Durango SRT HellCat AWD. The SRT Hellcat is a high-performance family SUV, not your typical SUV! it has power everywhere, it drives, and looks strong like a rhino, but compared to other Durango models its ticket price is high, you gotta pay around $80K to drive this powerful SUV.
New for 2021 the Dodge Durango lineup is adding the new top-of-the-line high-performance model, the SRT Hellcat AWD. It is priced around 80K! this is the most expensive Durango SUV, but also the most powerful Durango you can drive ever.
The new 2021 Durango lineup has been refreshed with an even more aggressive exterior design, a new interior with additional tech features, and several interesting trim models.
Supercharged with a 6.2L HEMI SRT Hellcat V8 engine and a whopping 710 horsepower, the Dodge Durango SRT is a full amount of car power at your hands. The generous 645 pound-feet of torque and a towing capacity of 8,700 pounds is more than enough car power you will ever need.
Just like other Dodge models, like the Challenger muscle car and the Charger sports sedan, this Durango SUV has a distinctive square-shoulder design that looks aggressive. It is rugged and it includes powerful features like best-in-class towing, enviable acceleration, and ample room for seven passengers on board the new SRT Hellcat.
Durango’s aggressive muscular exterior style is very appealing, powerful, and tough like no other SUV in its class. From the outside, it looks strong, fast, young and very aggressive.
In its favor, its attractive design is backed by loud and powerful handling, much to the delight of performance lovers in the segment, rare in competition.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on most new Durango models. Four-wheel drive is optional on most trim models and standard on both SRT top trim models like the Hellcat I am test driving.
The powerful SRT Hellcat features performance features like Brembo brakes, tuned suspension, upgraded leather sports seats, premium 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and the premium Blacktop package with black painted wheels with blacked-out exterior trim.
It seems that the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the most powerful SUV ever.
6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 710 horsepower Performance
The Durango SRT Hellcat includes one of the most powerful engines in an SUV, its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 710 horsepower, 645 pound-feet of torque, all-wheel drive, and a versatile eight-speed automatic transmission. The 6.2 engine is powerful and accelerates effortlessly. It handles well in everyday driving, braking performance is strong and smooth. Transmission shifts are smooth.
Steering and handling are good for a large SUV. The hellcat feels strong and powerful, but not quite as smooth for a family SUV. This SUV is loud what some racers and performance loves might enjoy, but if you want a very quiet ride then the hellcat might not be your ideal SUV.
The Durango feels controlled in almost any driving situation and it is easy to maneuver. This powerful SUV may not appeal to all families, but for those who want amazing performance and like the power of driving, would love to have all the superpowers of the Durango SRT Hellcat.
The strength to haul up to 8,700 pounds, the Dodge Durango is a mighty muscle masterpiece, because SUV towing capacity should never be overlooked.
2021 Dodge Durango Models and Price
The Durango is available in 8 different trim models and 6 of these models are available as RWD or AWD for an additional 3K approximately. The Durango lineup is now very diverse and with a model for every budget, starting around $32K for the base model Durango SXT RWD, all the way to the top of the line I am driving, the SRT HellCat priced around $80K.
The Durango is a great SUV and Dodge is giving several choices to its buyers with many trim models to choose from. I love the SRT HellCat but is not in everyone’s budget at 80K.
