Super Duty

The Ford Super Duty is a very capable heavy-duty full-size pickup truck.  For cowboys and country stars, the Super Duty is one of the best rewards you can get. Forget Lamborghini or Ferrari, a Super Duty is the winner of the audience in any country road.  Even if you are not a country star or a cowboy, you can fall in love with the Ford Super Duty.

If you want to drive a truck as powerful as a Rhino then the Super Duty is your truck

The Super Duty exterior body bolt design, the large cab, the solid large box, great large wheels, strong aggressive-looking bumpers produce a super duty truck that seems to be alive.

The Ford Super Duty also is known as F-Series Super Duty. The first Ford Super Duty was offered with the 1999 model year.  The Super Duty added the new 3 versions F-250, F-350, and F-450 to the F-line. Three of the most powerful pickup trucks one can wish to drive. Part of the power of the Super Duty comes from a new chassis, stronger than the pickup truck F-150. The new chassis is heavy-duty and includes suspension components to allow higher towing capacity and higher loads.

Fuel Economy

Here Ford has a lot of room for improvement. The 2020 Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat SRW 4×4 Crew Cab I am test driving doesn’t have the best fuel economy. This is one of the cons of buying a Super Duty. The approximate average consumption of gas per mile runs about 15 Miles per Gallon.

BEST TOWING CAPACITY IN THE MARKET

The super duty gas and diesel power engines are combined into a state of the art rugged frame and chassis engineering, according to Ford the result is best-in-class numbers in every category of hauling and towing capability.

The 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty has the best diesel trailer, the best diesel and gas performance, and the best payload over the 2020 Ram 2500 / 3500HD and 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 / 3500HD.

However, most of those capacities above are for the F-450, which has no direct competitor. The F-450 Super Duty with rear-wheel drive, dual rear wheels, 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine can have a large towing capacity and haul 37,000 pounds.

The F-350 Super Duty also beats them all with 35,750 pounds of towing capacity. The similarly equipped Silverado 3500HD can tow 35,500 pounds, while the Ram 3500HD can tow 35,100 pounds.

Towing such heavy loads generally requires a commercial driver’s license.

The 2020 Ford Super Duty with the Tremor Off-Road Package also outperforms the competition.

The Super Duty body uses high-strength military-grade aluminum, making the body much lighter than other trucks in the same segment and very strong.  This high-strength aluminum is also more resistant to dents, keeping your Super Duty nice and clean over time.

New Super Duty Tremor Off-Road Package

Tremor is the most capable off-road Super Duty ever, with the outstanding towing and payload capability heavy-duty pickup truck owners expect. It balances what customers demand in terms of work with what they need for the great outdoors. Suspension updates include a front-end lift, progressive-rate springs, custom 1.7-inch piston twin-tube dampers to control body motion, and 35-inch Goodyear maximum traction tires – the largest tires fitted to a heavy-duty pickup – on unique 18-inch black matte-finished wheels. Super Duty Tremor gets Trail Control™, plus a special rock-crawl mode is included in the truck’s first-ever selectable drive modes. The truck boasts 10.4 inches of ground clearance, best-in-class water fording of 33 inches, and the best approach and departure angles ever available with a Super Duty. Tremor is available in F-250 or F-350 single-rear-wheel configuration, with either the all-new 7.3-liter gas V8 or third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8.

Pro Trailer Backup Assist

New for 2020, the Ford Super Duty includes advanced trailering technology with the optionally available tool, Pro Trailer Backup Assist. This system helps you to accommodate the largest trailers into the smallest areas easily.

The driver uses the Pro Trailer Backup Assist knob to steer the trailer via the reverse camera, hands-free from the steering wheel. Then Trailer Reverse Guidance helps to show trailer angle and direction, providing steering suggestions to most efficiently direct a trailer backward into the desired space. These two systems work together and are made to work with all trailer styles, including conventional, fifth-wheel, and gooseneck designs.

Pricing

The Super Duty 2020 is available in a great price range for all budgets in 18 different trim models.  The base model F-250 XL starts with an MSRP of around $34,035 and as you climb into higher price models the top of the line F-450 Limited has a base price of around $90,860.  I like Ford’s smart pricing, but this is not an easy task, to be able to provide a product with such a wide pricing range from $34K to $90K.  Buyers who wish to buy a Super Duty have plenty of choices and there is no excuse not to buy a Super Duty if that is the car you want to buy as the price is so flexible for any budget.
